Happy Easter!!

We had a very fun, eventful Easter weekend. We started out by making some rice crispy treat eggs. You shape the crispies into eggs and then you dip them in chocolate and sprinkles. We did this last year and the kids loved it, so I think we will make it a tradition from now on. Plus they taste really good:) Here are the cute boys with chocolaty fingers. (Chris took pictures first and he forgot to put the flash on, so a few of the pictures are not great lighting)

They couldn't wait to eat the eggs, so of course they started to dig into the chocolate and mad a big mess in the process, that is OK, it was fun to watch them. And we are the only ones that were eating the eggs after all.

Chris thought this would be fun, to let the chocolate drip into James' mouth, I think James liked it a little bit. And more of a mess.

Dipping the eggs.

This is one that Mike made.

Here is one that Shawn made.

James found this recorder in the garage and the boys have been playing it all the time the last few days. This was funny because I was taking a picture of James standing up and it looked weird because I was above him so I got on my knees to get a better picture, well then James got on his knees. Then I bent over to get a better angle and James copied me again, this is the picture I got of him doing what I was doing. It was super cute!!

Eating their yummy chocolate Crispy eggs.

On Saturday Night we dyed Easter eggs, we had a lot of fun together.
All the boys joining in the festivities, Chris wasn't too excited at first, but he got into it, he always does.

Cute smiles.

James is of course into the independence thing these days and he had a great time doing it by himself.

He even had to get the eggs out by himself! He did a great job and didn't break any of the eggs.

We all had a great time and then we got ready for bed so that the Easter Bunny would come.

EASTER MORNING
Sleepy boys, we had to wait for them to get up, it was almost 8 AM. Mikey was the first one up and he had to wake the other two up. Shawn did not want to get up at all, he was a bit grumpy at first.

All their Easter goodies. The older boys got some cash and new bike locks for their bikes, and James got some puzzles and cars, and lots of candy.

The stash! After he had eaten most of the candy.

Searching for eggs.

James got a few and then he had to open them, it was a bit of a process since the older boys just wanted to get all the eggs, we had to let them leave some for James so he could find some when he was ready.

Here is Chris helping James get one of the really high ones. He didn't want to get it, but once he had it he was happy.
We went to a friends house after dinner and had desserts and had an outdoor egg hunt with all he kids.
Here are some of our desserts, they were all yummy. I made the Banana Split Cake, it is sooo good.

While the dads were hiding eggs outside the kids were inside listening to a story about all the different colors of Easter and how they go along with the true Easter story about our Saviour Jesus Christ, it was good story, but a bit long for them. They wanted to get outside and look for eggs:)

Here are the little kids getting a head start to look for eggs before the older ones go and clean up.

James did a good job finding all his eggs. It was funny though, because if he saw one and someone else would grab it he would run toward it and say that one is mine, and I would have to distract him to find a different one, he did that several times though.

Dad and Shawn helping him find some more.

Seeing what they got, making sure they got all 12 eggs they were allowed to get.

All my good friends: Carolyn, Jen, Trina, Jolee and then me. WOW I am getting big, I definitely feel big!

James had fun with this little girl that we didn't even know in a backyard close by just see-sawing away, it was cute.
We definitely had a great Easter weekend. We didn't get to go to church because we watched General Conference on television, but the leaders of our church did an excellent job on their talks and they were wonderful about the Savior, it was very spiritual and uplifting. We also had our good friends the Maddox's and Stephen's over for Supper, and Chris smoked a very yummy turkey breast that was delicious! Since we didn't go to church and get all dressed up we didn't take family pictures, but we will be doing that next weekend with all of our matching outfits. I look forward to that experience.
We hope all of you had a wonderful Easter as well.
